Miss New York’s Outstanding Teen 2008…
Alexandra Mazzucchelli
Alexandra Mazzucchelli, 16, of Great Kills, Staten Island was crowned Miss
New York’s Outstanding Teen 2008 at the conclusion of the state pageant
held in Utica, New York on June 1. Miss Mazzucchelli wowed the judges with
her classical vocal rendition of “Tonight” from the musical ‘West Side Story.’
In addition to working on her platform “March of Dimes: Expanding to the Next
Generation”, Alexandra is an accomplished performer, having been a
featured vocalist for the Borough President James P. Molinaro for several
events as well as the March of Dimes for four consecutive years. With a
passion for performing on the stage, Alexandra has been cast in leading
roles in various community theatres and has been recognized for her talent
as being the recipient of the United States Achievement Academy National
Speech and Drama Award for 2007. Other awards include: Outstanding
Achievement in Italian and Excellence in Vocal Music from The Michael J.
Petrides School where she is currently in her Junior year. Alexandra
continues to maintain her 4.0 GPA as well as being the President of the
Thespian Society for her troupe and a member of the National Honor Society.
She strives to inspire teens to become involved in community service as well
as her platform. Alexandra hopes that through volunteering teens with learn
the self-gratitude and nobility in helping others. In addition to these
aspirations, Alexandra is working hard to achieve her dreams to attend New
York University and become a Broadway performer.
